Good Bye to a friend

Created by Mick 3 years ago

I got to know Barry from when we worked together in BT. Barry was an 'X25' expert who knew his job inside out. He was always very helpful, calm and collected, and well respected by all - I never once saw him get frustrated or lose his temper. You knew with confidence that you could leave the running of the X25 network to Barry and a few of his X25 pals. His knowledge in that area held no bounds.

Over the relatively short time that I got to know him, I know he loved his Family, his work, his caravan, a good beer and Joe Brown (and his Bruvvers). I think I'm right in saying that he developed a mini recording/sound studio in his back garden. I can just picture him now with the Joe Brown music blaring and his son banging away on his drums.

It brings back happy memories of a time gone by and these will never fade.

I'm sure that other stories, photo's and anecdotes about Barry will populate this site and I'll be waiting to see them, especially the funny ones, as I'm sure there will be many.

I am sad that Barry was taken far too early and I know he will be dearly missed. He was a Good Person.

I am proud to have known him and will happily raise a glass of London Pride to celebrate his life.

'May the force be with you' Barry, and we'll meet again in the next life.
